Robo-FTP and Robo-FTP Server run in a fully-functional evaluation mode for 30 days when installed on a system for the first time. Once that evaluation license expires, the software must be activated. Activation is a simple process which you should be able to complete without assistance from Technical Support.
Read the Help File First
The Help file that was installed with the software provides detailed instructions for activating the software. It covers the most common cases you are likely to encounter:
- Activating a license for the first time
- Transferring a license from one machine to another
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I need to move the software to a new machine, but I need to keep it running on the old machine for a little while so I can fully test the new system. Is this allowed?
A: When you install the software on the new machine, it will run in fully-functional evaluation mode for 30 days. This should give sufficient time to test the new system before you have to transfer the license from the old machine to the new machine.
Q: I just submitted a manual activation request. When should I expect a response?
A: Activation requests are answered in the order they are received. In most cases, you will receive a response within an hour or so, although it should never take longer than one business day.
Q: Automatic activation does not work for me (due to firewall, proxy server, etc.). Is there another option for submitting a manual activation request besides fax or email?
A: Yes. If you are able to access the Internet from a web browser, you can submit an activation request via our web site using this form: Activation Form.
Q: My hard drive crashed on my old computer. I now have a new computer. How do I activate the software on my new machine?
A: Submit your activation request as if this were a new license. The software will return an error advising that your license has already been activated and provide a form requesting more information. Complete and submit this form.
